Lions, Tigers, and Bears! Oh My!

Miss E: "Do bears go potty in the forest?"
Me: "Yes."
E: "Do lions and tigers go potty in the forest?"
Me: "They don't live in the forest. They live in a place called the prairies (I realize I was wrong in my response, now.). It's a grassy type of land. And that's where they go potty."
E: "Why do lions and tigers eat us?"
Me: "Because they think we are like zebras."
E: "Do they eat hair?"
Me: "Maybe. Do you like to eat hair?"
E: "No."
Me: "So maybe they don't like it either."
E: "Do they eat necklaces?"
Me: "No."
E: "Why?"
Me: "Because it's not meat. They like things with meat, like zebras, cows, and chickens."
E: "Do lions and tigers eat bears?"
Me: "I don't think so. They don't live in the same place, so I don't think that would happen."
E: "What does Sven (Frozen character) eat?"
Me: "Grass."
E: "Do lions, tigers, and bears eat Sven?"
Me: "Umm... Yes."
E: "Why?"
Me: "He's a deer; that's a type of animal they like to eat."

And then I finally cut off the conversation, because she was supposed to be asleep, I had simply stopped by her room to see if she was asleep. All of this because she was looking at her map of the zoo.

At around 2 1/2 years old I survived the "why" stage. It was particularly difficult for me. Hopefully I can survive this inquisitive toddler stage. My parents claim I was the same way. :)

Can I Just Say Something Crazy?

So, it's been a while. I lost interest in blogging, plus little time with all the chores I should be doing and chasing toddlers around. However, I'm kind of interested in getting back into this blogging thing, so I will recap our fun summer thus far.

MAY:
Family trip to Flagstaff!

Jensen family came to visit!
We love our cousins!

JUNE:
I went to Girls Camp so daddy had full parenting duty for 2 days. Then some of Matt's family came to visit and play!
Pajama movie night with Grandma and cousin Leila!

Ellie turned THREE!

Trip with friends to Flagstaff!

JULY:
Family time with the Morrises in California! I love my family.

Family time with the Walsers in Utah! It was a blast!

AUGUST:
Daddy had a birthday!

Other brief news:
Jack started nursery. He loves books and learning. He is a super happy boy, and almost always getting into trouble.
Ellie is 3 going on 13 or 30. She loves dressing up, being a princess, and "putting on makeup". (I can wait for the teenage years.) She just started a dance class and is super shy/nervous about it. Hopefully future classes go better than the first. We are also doing preschool at home this year.
Daddy finished his Masters last December. He has moved up in the working world. And he has started taking on some home remodeling projects! (We've only been in the house 2 years... Hey, but at least something is happening now.)
Mommy is loving being at home with 2 toddlers, though I'm usually exhausted by end of the day. I'm enjoying cooking, again, and trying to make us an all REAL food family (i.e. no processed foods). I enjoy teaching my children, though "homeschooling" is difficult to figure out with 2 kids; I can only imagine what it's like with more.

And....
Two of our favorite things is about to become THREE of our favorite things. We, as parents, will now be outnumbered come mid January.  WE LOVE CRAZY. And that's what life will become, I'm sure.  But it will be beautiful and blessed with another sweet angel face, and so we are very grateful. We will find out the gender in 2 weeks. I cannot wait to see what we're having. January will be here before we know it.
My obedient girl and my boy who could care less what I say.

Till next time,
The Walsers

365 Days of Toddler Style: Day 7-15

I haven't given up! I just haven't had the chance to sit and get on the blog. So here is a dump of posts with the little girl's outfits for days 7-15.

 Fedora: Target
 Shirt: Target
 Leggings: "hand-me" downs
Shoes: Target (she needs new shoes, right?)

Scarf I was in the process of making her: from an old t-shirt of mine.
She was crying because she got frustrated trying to put a hat on.

Day 9:

Skirt: She loves wearing stuff days in a row :)

365 Days of Toddler Style: Day 6

She's thrilled to have her picture taken.

To answer your question, no, no it's not yet cold here. She was making me sweat looking at her dressed so warmly. I tried telling her it was too hot for a sweater, but she did not care. Later in the day we went to the grocery store, and she actually switched the hat for a beanie! Crazy girl.

Fedora: Target
Sweatshirt: Old Navy
Tank top: Down East
Leggings: Target
Shoes: Target

Here's a closeup of her shoes. She loves shoes. They're only a few weeks old and already looking pretty worn.

And here is a picture of her tank top she had on underneath her sweater. I love it, but she's getting too tall for it.

365 Days of Toddler Style: Day 5

My kiddos love being outside. I think they could stay all day at the park, well E could at least.

I attempted to French braid her hair today.

I love her patriotic choice today. Other than the brown socks, I would say she did alright again today! Lots of polka dot looking patterns going on, but she pulls it off with her cute smile.

Onesie (that's right, she still has 1 onesie she wears): Costco
Ruffle Skirt: gift for Independence Day, I believe from Walmart
Socks and shoes: Target

365 Days of Toddler Style: Day 4

Didn't get my post up yesterday! But I did take the picture. It was a lovely morning at the park! I absolutely love this time of year. All summer long we have been going bright and early to the park to beat the heat, but it was still pretty warm. Now when we go, still early because my kids are early birds, it feels wonderful. Best Fall weather around.

I actually was pleased to see what E
picked out yesterday. Other than the bright red socks and shoes, I think she did well. A little belt would've really helped to seal the deal. I especially love the jeggings on this girl (picked out by her daddy).

Dress (that is now too short but she loves to still wear it): gift for St Patrick's day, I believe it's from Walmart
Jeggings: Target
Socks and Shoes: Target

Sorry about the noise (graininess) in the pictures. I've been trying to improve my skills and didn't realize how grainy they looked till I got home.

365 Days of Toddler Style: Day 3

Sorry for the poor lighting, busy busy day.
The day almost escaped before I could sneak a picture in. This is probably one of Ellie's favorite outfits. Pink and purple, her favorite colors, and a skirt. She loves skirts, because then she is a princess. She also loves her red polka dot shoes.

Shirt: Target
Bubble Skirt: Target
Shoes: Target
Necklace: ribbon with a bell (She actually loves this necklace. I threw it together for her last Christmas while I was decorating for the holidays, to keep her out of my decorations.)

And I have to sneak in a picture of her brother, because he is a prime example of baby fashion done right, right?? Polo and a diaper. He's rocking it.

I'm totally kidding and really need to dress my baby up.
